Municipal District of Callan - Thomastown

 

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994 as amended by the Public Transport Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46), Kilkenny County Council gives notice of its intention to carry out works in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny consisting of the following:

 

  • Construction of new footpath along Dangan Terrace to complete pedestrian link from existing footpath at south of Dangan Terrace to existing footpath at R703 Road Junction (Graiguenamanagh Road).
  • Junction improvement and new pedestrian crossing facility at R703 Road Junction (Graiguenamanagh Road).
  • Landscaping and Natured-based Drainage on approach to The Quay.
  • Junction Improvement at The Quay / Chapel Lane / Nore View Junction along with improved pedestrian crossing facility.
  • 4 No. Traffic Calming ramps and driver feedback sign.

 

The proposals are available from Friday 15th of May, 2026:

 

  • On this webpage under Materials on the right-hand side
  • At the Active Travel Offices, Kilkenny County Council Offices, St. Patrick’s Court from 9.30am to 4.30pm
  • and the Area Office of Municipal District of Callan -Thomastown, Ladyswell, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny.
