Section 38 for N76 Callan Bypass Pavement Scheme

 

 

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994 as amended by the Public Transport Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46), Kilkenny County Council gives notice of its intention to carry out works to the N76 Callan Bypass consisting of the following:

 

  • Traffic calming measures through the N76 Callan Bypass
  • Provision of Active Travel facilities including new segregated footpaths and cycle tracks and new pedestrian crossings
  • Strengthening and renewal of the existing pavement surface
  • Incorporation of the required road signage and road markings

 

The N76 Callan Bypass Pavement Scheme proposals together with associated drawings and documents are available for inspection at Kilkenny County Council Offices during public opening hours from Friday, 12th June, 2026 to Thursday, 16th July, 2026 inclusive at the following locations:

  1. County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny, R95 A39T
  2. Municipal District of Callan Area Office, Clonmel Road, Callan, Co. Kilkenny R95 RK06

 

A copy of the N76 Callan Bypass Pavement Scheme proposals together with associated drawings and documents is also available to view online at https://consult.kilkenny.ie/en

 

Making a Submission or Observation

Written submissions or observations regarding the N76 Callan Bypass Pavement Scheme may be made in one of three ways:

  1. Online via Council's Public Consultation Portal at https://consult.kilkenny.ie/en
  2. Via Email with “N76 Callan Bypass Pavement Scheme” in the subject line to callanbypass2026@kilkennycoco.ie
  3. In writing (marked “N76 Callan Bypass Pavement Scheme”) to the undersigned

 

Submissions or observations must be made in writing no later than 4:00 pm on Thursday 16th July 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted.

 

Please note that all submissions will be made available for public viewing on Kilkenny County Council’s consultation website during the consultation period. Kilkenny County Council will treat all personal data provided as confidential. We will retain your data for no longer than is necessary for the purpose of this plan and in accordance with Kilkenny County Council’s Retention Policy and the relevant Data Protection legislation.
