Proposed Changes to Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws on the National, Regional and Local Road Networks County
Kilkenny County Council is proposing amendments to existing Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws. Schedules are listed in the Draft Bye-Laws as follows:
Schedule 1 20km/hr Schedule 5 60km/hr
Schedule 2 30km/hr Schedule 6 80km/hr
Schedule 3 40km/hr Schedule 7 100km/hr
Schedule 4 50km/hr Schedule 8 120km/hr
No amendments are proposed to existing Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws for Schedules 1, 3 and 8. Amendments are proposed for all other Schedules.
In accordance with Section 9, Road Traffic Act 2004, the Draft County Kilkenny Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws 2022 have been prepared and will be available for inspection during normal office hours (Monday - Friday) from 6th May 2022 to 10th June 2022 (both dates inclusive) at the following locations:
- County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny
- City Hall, High Street, Kilkenny
- Thomastown Area Office, Ladyswell, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny
- Callan Area Office, Clonmel Road, Callan, Co. Kilkenny
- Piltown Area Office, Ferrybank, Co. Kilkenny
- Castlecomer Area Office, Kilkenny Street, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny
The Draft Bye-laws and accompanying maps are also available to download and view on Kilkenny County Councils Consultation website at
Submissions and observations may be made on or before 10th June 2022 in writing marked
"Draft County Kilkenny Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws 2022 to the Senior Engineer, Roads Department, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny”.
