Kilkenny County Council has commenced the process of reviewing the Local Area Plan (LAP) for Castlecomer. The new Plan will be the statutory plan that sets out the land use strategy. To assist in this process, an “Issues Paper” has been prepared which identifies the key planning issues that may be addressed, and a short Health Check survey has been devised.
There are three key components to this pre-draft consultation process, and interested parties are invited to:
Drop in to the public Information Session - which will be held at the Castlecomer Library on Tuesday 23rd July from 3.30pm to 5pm and 6pm to 8pm. (Drop in anytime during those sessions)
The Issues Paper and Health Check survey are available from the 19th of July 2024 at the following locations:
Planning Office, Kilkenny County Council, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny (during normal opening hours)
Castlecomer Area Office (during opening hours)
The Health Check survey is available for completion until the 23rd August 2024 at consult.kilkenny.ie. Hard copies are available at the Castlecomer Area Office, and they can be dropped back there also.
Submissions on the Issues Paper can be made from the 19th of July until Friday 23rd August 2024 (both dates inclusive) as follows:

Late submissions will not be accepted.
Children or groups or associations representing the interests of children are also welcome to make submissions. Please note that all submissions will be made available for public viewing on the Council’s consultation website during the plan-making period. This is your opportunity to have a say in the future development of your area. We look forward to hearing from you.
