Kilkenny County Council propose to deliver a high-quality transport solution that completes the link between the IDA Business Park and the N10 Waterford Road.
This is in line with Objective R2 and R3 of the Kilkenny City & County Development Plan 2021-2027 stating
"R2 - Complete the Outrath Road Improvement Scheme and link the Bohernatounish Road to the Outrath Road"
"R3 - To provide for a Relief Road through development lands linking the Outrath Road through to the existing Smithlands business park and onto the Waterford Road.
Ultimately, this project aims to address the growing needs of Kilkenny City.
The project will include conducting detailed assessments, transport modelling, environmental surveys along with route option identification and selection process to confirm the preferred option. However, as a first step we are carrying out this preliminary public consultation to gather key feedback on the 5no. route options, and receive and relevant local knowledge that will inform the subsequent stages.
