Piltown Village Pedestrian Improvements and Traffic Calming
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994 as amended by the Public Transport Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46), Kilkenny County Council gives notice of its intention to carry out works in Piltown Village consisting of the following:
• Installation of new footpaths to complete pedestrian links on Main St. from the Campus Service Station to the junction with Tybroughney Road
• Provision of 3 no. raised pedestrian crossings on Main St. at Belline Way, Banagher Place and the Credit Union
• Junction treatment along the route to improve pedestrian safety
• Traffic calming ramp on the approaches to the village
• Provision of drainage as required
The proposals are available from Wednesday, 9th of April, 2025:
• On the website, https://consult.kilkenny.ie under Materials on the right-hand side
• At the Active Travel Offices, Kilkenny County Council Offices, St. Patrick’s Court from 9.30am to 4.30pm and the Area Office of Municipal District of Piltown, Ferrybank Shopping Centre, Ferrybank, Waterford by appointment.
Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development dealing with the proper planning and development of the area in which the development will be carried out may be
