In accordance with Section 13(3) of the Planning & Development Acts 2000-2015, notice is hereby given that Kilkenny County Council is proposing a Variation to the Kilkenny City & Environs Development Plan 2014-2020.
Variation No. 3 to the Kilkenny City and Environs Development Plan proposes:
To alter the zoning in the Western Environs to maximise the potential housing supply in line with the Government’s policy outlined in Rebuilding Ireland, and to ensure alignment of supply with current investment proposals. This Variation will comprise an update to parts of Chapter 3: Core Strategy and Zoning (Sections 3.3.1 Land Requirement, 3.3.2 Distribution of Housing Land requirement, 3.4 Development Strategy, and 3.4.6 Zoning Map Objectives, and changes to Figure 3.3 Zoning Objectives) to update the current status of development land since the Development Plan was made and also to include a revised location for schools’ development.
A copy of the Proposed Variation, including Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Screening report and Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening Report, may be inspected at the following locations for a 4 week period from 2nd June to 30th June 2017.
The Planning Department, Kilkenny County Council, John Street, Kilkenny during office opening hours of 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm Monday to Friday.
Carnegie Library, John’s Quay, Kilkenny during opening hours of: Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 8pm, Thursdays and Fridays 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm, and Saturdays 10am to 1:30pm.
Written submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Variation, SEA and AA Screening Reports made to the Planning Authority within this period will be taken into consideration before the making of the Variation. All submissions should be clearly marked ‘Variation No 3’. Submissions can be made online here, or sent by email to ourplan@kilkennycoco.ie or addressed in writing to Director of Services Planning, Kilkenny County Council, John Street, Kilkenny.
