Controlled burning of Agricultural Waste
Kilkenny County Council are accepting notifications for Agricultural Burning in line with the Waste Management (Prohibition of Waste Disposal by Burning)(Amendment) Regulations 2023 (SI No. 16 of 2023).
The controlled burning must take place between 1st September 2023 and 30th November 2023 (inclusive).
This exemption, provided for under the Waste Management (Prohibition of Waste Disposal by Burning) Regulations 2009 (S.I. 286 of 2009), exists to allow farmers, in accordance with the waste hierarchy and as a last resort, to dispose of wastes generated by agricultural practices.
