Litir Chumhdaigh

On my own behalf and on behalf of residents living on the Carrick Road on the N24 westwards out of Mooncoin Village.

Observations

Reduce the speed limit from 80 KPH to 60 KPH on the N24 West out of Mooncoin village.

Ábhair:

The speed limit should be reduced from 80 KPH to 60 KPH on the Carrick Road on the N24 westwards out of Mooncoin Village. This is an exceptionally dangerous stretch of road with a number of residents trying to come out of their driveways with only 20 metres of vision in some cases. The road is windy with many bends and there is just little or no visibility. Many accidents have occurred on this stretch of road including fatalities. Traffic moves at a very fast pace on this section of road as can be verified by the Gardai. The Gardai cannot monitor here for speeding due to the danger involved. Kilkenny County Council are supportive of speed reduction here but apparently the TII won't agree. I am asking that the residents, council, councillors, TDs and Gardai are listened to and that this request be put in place.

Main opinion:

Reduce the current speed limit from 80 KPH to 60 KPH on the Carrick Road on the N24 westwards out of Mooncoin Village.
