Proposed Variation No.2 to the Kilkenny County Development Plan and Proposed Variation No.4 to the Kilkenny City & Environs Development Plan
In accordance with Section 13(3) of the Planning & Development Acts 2000-2017, notice is hereby given that Kilkenny County Council is proposing to vary both the Kilkenny County and City & Environs Development Plans 2014-2020.
These Variations propose:
To incorporate a revised mandatory objective (Objective 3A ) within the core strategy in respect of the regeneration and re-utilisation of vacant sites and will facilitate the implementation of legislative actions to address undeveloped sites in Kilkenny County’. The proposed variation would, therefore, provide for ‘Active land management’ by means of the implementation of a vacant sites levy.
A copy of the Proposed Variations, including Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Screening reports and Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening Reports, may be inspected at the following locations for a 4 week period from 15th September to 13th October 2017.
The Planning Department, Kilkenny County Council, John Street, Kilkenny during office opening hours of 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm Monday to Friday.
Carnegie Library, John’s Quay, Kilkenny during opening hours of: Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm, Thursdays and Fridays 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm, and Saturdays 10am to 1:30pm.
Written submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Variation, SEA and AA Screening Reports made to the Planning Authority within this period will be taken into consideration before the making of the Variation. All submissions should be clearly marked ‘Variation No 2’ (County) or 'Variation No. 4' (City). Submissions can be made online at http://consult.kilkenny.ie, or sent by email to ourplan@kilkennycoco.ie or addressed in writing to Director of Services Planning, Kilkenny County Council, John Street, Kilkenny.
Please note that all submissions will be made available for public viewing on the Council’s consultation website.
Submissions must be received by the Planning Authority by5pm on 13th October 2017.
