Waterford/New Ross Greenway
As outlined in my cover letter I am writing to you on behalf of the Ard Glas Residents Associaton. The Ard Glas estate comprises of 123 houses with a large percentage of the houses owner occupied. Our estate is situated on the Abbey Road with our estate entrance approximately 300 metres from the proposed entry point to the Greenway. We are also impacted with the disused railway line to New Ross backing onto approximately one third of the houses in our estate.
Below are a summary of the main points we would appreciate your reply on -
1.Anti Social behaviour – what action plan does the Kilkenny Co Co have in place to combat any issues that may arise on the Greenway?
2.Privacy issues – The Ard Glas Residents Association have concerns that the proposed fencing suggested will not be sufficient. This issue needs to be addressed through individual consultation with residents immediately impacted but also through group discussion.
3.How do Kilkenny Co Co propose to deal with litter/risk of illegal rubbish dumping both on the Greenway and in the surrounding environs?
4.Traffic management – what parking provisions are in place? The Ard Glas Residents Association have concerns that our estate will be used for parking due to its close proximity to entry of the Greenway.
5.Lighting on the Greenway – is this managed by Kilkenny Co Co?
6.Assurances from Kilkenny Co Co that at no time will there be an entry/exit point to the Greenway from the Ard Glas Estate.
7.At what frequency will the fencing be maintained and where applicable replaced?
