I would like to make an observation in relation to the importance of properly maintaining country estates in the context of the review of the Development Plan for Kilkenny.

Mount Juliet is one of a number of important country houses in the county, and a policy that protects them from over development , including mainstream residential development is important.

I note the Area Action Plan for Mount Juliet is a sub plan of the County Development Plan, and this should become the focus of a specific public consultation exercise through the Development Plan Review process and not simply reviewed in isolation of public opinion.
