List of Changes and Map Numbers

Ábhair:

I would like to make a submission that the road from the Roadstone Quarry Junction at New Aglish down to the junction at Grannagh Castle needs to be reduced to a minimum speed of 80km per hour.

This section of the road needs to be urbanised as a matter of urgency as this stretch of road has a number of different companies operating along it including Roadstone, Countrystyle, Dawn Meats and the paper mills business park. There are also 38 houses affected by this stretch of road, therefore it would not be appropriate to call this a rural road. I would like immediate action to be taken to rectify this, starting with the speed limit reduction.

The Roadstone quarry junction, going from a main road to a minor road is incredibly dangerous and one of the busier roads in the country and as you take the road towards Grannagh Castle, it is no longer safe to walk. Residents have lived along this stretch of road their entire lives and can no longer walk on the road or drive out of their own driveways of their homes. It is a nightmare for residents, walkers, cyclists and families with children. A third lane has also been created on the hard shoulder on this two lane road from the Roadstone Quarry junction at New Aglish down towards the Grannagh soccer field. This has created a very dangerous and unacceptable situation.

To urbanise this stretch of road would give the residents back some peace and safety in their lives which is not there at the moment.

Main opinion:

To reduce the speed limit on a stretch of main road

Main requests:

Speed Limit change

Main reasons:

To improve the safety of residents and road users
