To whom it may concern,

I note that there are currently no proposals to change the speed limits or put in place traffic calming measures at the southern end of Stonyford Village where Scoil Chiarain Noafa is located. It is my opinion, as a parent of children who attend this school that a review of the speed limits on the roads around the school should take urgency. The school has grown in recent years which as lead to an increase in the number of pupils walking to school every day. At present, there are no parking facilities for the parents at the school, and parents dropping their children to school are parking along the street in Stonyford village and walking to the school. Many of the older children are unattended by an adult. and they have to cross 2 busy roads. There is no pedestrian crossing to facilitate children crossing safely. While there is a pedestrian crossing the Mount Juliet road, the current speed limit on this road coming of the hill has lead to excessive speed and reckless and dangerous driving. Cars are almost pass the school before they realise that they have to slow down. It is an accident waiting to happen. I would be obliged if the points raised above be considered and changes to speed limits in the vicinity of these crossing points me mad, along with provision of traffic calming measures on the Mount Juliet road and a pedestrian crossing on the Norelands Road,

Yours sincerely
