Here in our estate we have a mix of older couples and young families. It isn't save for either group to walk down to the village with the current speed limit. Once cars pass the 50km zone they are have already sped up and encroach on the hard shoulder where we should be walking.
We have been looking for this speed limit to be changed for the last 30 - 35 years.
As the new path is a help half way up the hill is a help it isn't sufficent as it is unfinished and uneven. Elderly people us this path on a regular basis.
The residents of the estate and along the Thomastown Rd, would like this sped limit move as far as Norely Theyr B&B. If 50km cannot be accieved can a speed limit of 60km up to there be introduced to help reduce the speed coming into the village.
50km zone to be extended to Norely Thery B&B on the R700
It is not safe for the residents on the R700 to walk down to the village the at the speed of which cars & trucks are doing currently.
