Goal 3: Enhance the Visitor Experience

Many tourists visit Kilkenny for heritage. Unfortunately the Central Access Scheme is destroying Kilkenny heritage by damaging the medieval road and buildings at Vicar Street. Tourists do not come to see ghastly new inner city roads like CAS with noise and pollution. The medieval  inner city should be preserved like ancient European cities - not torn up for roads.  A ring road would take traffic out of the city. David McWilliams (Kilkenomics Festival in November) wrote in his Irish Independent column that CAS is a bad idea and not an attraction for his economist friends.
