Submission for change to the speed limits on Mill Lane (L6731) in Gowran

Ábhair:

We the residents of Mill Lane (L6731) and Mill Road would like to petition Kilkenny County Council to adjustment of the speed limits on L6731 from the current limit of 80KM/h to 50Km/h under the grounds of Health and Safety.
This short stretch of road is used frequently by:
• Children for access to local primary school,
• Elderly walkers
• Wheelchair users
• Families’ (walkers, children cyclists and strollers)
• Runners and Cyclists’
The road is particularly hazardous on dark, wet, winter mornings and we have already had cases of ‘near misses’ in the past year.

Main opinion:

Road speed limit is too fast on this lane

Main requests:

Reduce the speed from 80KM/h to 50Km/h
